Today, we welcome AHRC New York City as a new program participant of 501(c) Agencies Trust.
As a state unemployment insurance (SUI) reimburser, AHRC New York City retains much of the money they could be sending the state in the form of unemployment taxes for their programs and services. They chose 501(c) Agencies Trust from a suite of programs provided by 501(c) Services that are designed to help them save money on their unemployment taxes. Federal law allows 501(c)(3)s to stop paying their unemployment taxes and to self-fund their own programs and pay their claims as they go. Doing so can save organizations 40 to 60 percent on those unemployment costs.
With a membership comprised of thousands of individuals – primarily persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, friends and professionals in the field – AHRC New York City is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in New York City. Each year, AHRC New York City touches the lives of over 15,000 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the five boroughs. They offer a wide range of programs, services and supports tailored to meet the specific needs of their members through schools, workshops, day treatment programs and community residences.
