Girls Scouts are well-known for raising funds annually through their iconic cookie sales. Now the internationally known nonprofit for girls is releasing a breakfast cereal.
General Mills confirmed Monday that they are teaming with the organization to launch two cereals themed around Girl Scout cookies next year.
“The Girl Scouts Cookie cereals will be available nationwide in January,” says Mike Siemienas, a General Mills spokesman. “We will provide additional information when we are closer to the launch.”

Revenue from the sales of Girl Scout cookies has been around $700 million since 1999, based on sales of 200 million boxes at $3.50 per box. The organization began selling their wares online in 2015. Beginning in December of 2015, 2.5 million boxes, or about $10 million worth, of the cookies sold online.
