SHIELD Transition Update

By October 28, 2021November 9th, 2021No Comments

As of mid-November, all 501 members have begun the move from CaseBuilder to SHIELD, and hundreds have already completed the transition. Here is what some of you are saying about the new claims system – SHIELD.

“I have to say I like the portal. It is definitely an improvement from the portal that we were previously using.”

“I do find SHIELD easier to use and I like the discussion feature. I have used it to answer a question already and find it quick and convenient. I have watched some of the training videos and they are very helpful.”

“I’ve just had to do one claim so far since we changed over and I was really happy with it. Much more intuitive, offered reasons that made a lot more sense. So far, no complaints!”

We are well on the way to completing the transition we began in August when we announced that 501 entered a partnership with Thomas & Company (T&C) for unemployment claims management services. If you would like more information about T&C and SHIELD, or why this decision was made, click here to read the original announcement. Also, check out the transition FAQ to answer any questions you may have.

REMINDER: Please complete your new power of attorney (POA) as soon as possible to prevent any delay in your switch.

You will continue to use CaseBuilder until such time as the state processes your new POA. Once that occurs, you will stop receiving claim notifications from CaseBuilder and begin receiving them from SHIELD. You will also begin to work with our new SHIELD claims team. Click here to meet them.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work through this transition. If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at transition@501c.com.
